Among the features unique to Beckett Grading Services is a Report Card providing specific grade details and leaving no confusion as to why your card received its grade.

Cards will be graded on four key categories: centering, corners, edges and surface. Beckett Grading Services is the first to use this unique system which assures accuracy in grading. Grades from each of these key categories will be considered in determining your card's final overall grade.

These key category grades will appear on the back of the Beckett Grading Services cardholder. Card produced prior to will not receive the report card. For those collectors not interested in sub grades, a new single grade service is being offered.

In the past I read that BGS prefers cards to be submitted in semi-rigid card holders card saver I or II , but those are tricky to use on thicker cards because of the pressure they put on the corners. Many collectors also prefer to tape shut the open end of the top loader to prevent the card from sliding out, and even seal the top loader in a team bag.

I suppose that sheet cutting is a reality that some loathe and others tolerate, similar to pressing for graded comic books. While PWCC should be given credit for mentioning sheet cut cards they will often tell you it "likely is" if you ask on a BGS 10 since they cannot tell for sure , they are pretty enthusiastic about price gouging on some items. Just take a look at their unopened wax packs and some of their pristine cards in the vault. They are usually multiples above recent Ebay sales.

To be fair, this may be greedy consignors who are responsible for that, and you can't blame someone for wanting maximum dollars in a hot market. I suppose it's the new breed of collector that doesn't care about sheet cut, since a lot of the old school type treat sheet cut examples with absolute contempt.
